    Details:

     

    The Business Anaylsis (BA) function sits within the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) function, aligned to Digital Business Services. The principal responsibility of the Business Analyis function is to work with the Portfolio and Delivery leads to understand and translate business requirements across a range of IT Infrastructure delivery portfolios, to a level of detail to support development and deployment.  

     

    The Head of Business Analysis will lead the existing BA Centre of Excellence (CoE) and team of 12 BAs located in London and Sheffield.  

     

    The role holder will: 

    • Be a driven people leader and someone who has previously led a BA team in a complex, highly-matrixed organisation; 
    • Possess strong planning, communiation and presentation skills, and the ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders; 
    • Focus on consistent team improvement through communities of practice, team feedback and technology best practice to continually refine how the team and framework functions within CTO; 
    • Ensure the team is suitably resourced to support project requirements through future forecasting and ongoing  management of demand; 
    • Provide quality assurance to ensure project deliverables meet the standards defined by the CoE;  
    • Build and continuously improve the brand – socialising the embedding understanding and value of the BA role to the portfolios and key stakeholders, within CTO; 
    • Have in depth practical knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, tools and techniques; 

      In addition, the role holder will be proficient in:  
    • Stakeholder Engagement and Management to C-Suite level; 
    • Scope Definition; 
    • Process Flow Defintion (Current and Future State); 
    • Gap Analysis; 
    • Requirements elicitation (facilitating, challenging and documenting) – this includes: 
      • Epic confirmation; 
      • User Story creation under BDD; 
      • Refinement with Architectural/Development teams; 
    • Options Analysis; 
    • Data Mapping; 
    • User Acceptance Testing Support; 
    • Operational Design/Impact Analysis; 

      Key Skills:  
    • Ability to elicit and analyse across all stages of a project; 
    • Ability to challenge across all stages of a project; 
    • Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience;  
    • Ability to undertake tasks and meet challenging deadlines; 
    • Provide leadership and direction to the BA function, and key stakeholders; 

     

    Experience of working in Infrastructure Delivery is not mandatory but would be beneficial
