Job Description:

  • Job Description

    Key requirements:

    - excellent verbal communication skills

    - experience with the Meraki dashboard

    - experience configuring Meraki switches, wireless access points, and firewalls

The network refreshes are being performed across thousands of DaVita dialysis clinics across the US.  On site technicians remove and replace existing Meraki hardware.  It is our responsibility to communicate with the on site technicians via support bridges to make sure they have everything installed and cabled up correctly, and troubleshoot with them if something is not right.

After the replacement hardware is installed, our team makes some minor configuration updates to bring the new hardware in to production and then test to make sure the network is fully functional.

Each team member may be performing this refresh across 3 to 5 clinics at the same time, so it is important that they are detail oriented and able to keep track of what is happening within each of their assigned clinics throughout the course of the shift.  All of the work is documented in run books and checklists and is not technically demanding.

This specific position will be required to provide these services Monday through Thursday.  Start times vary from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST. End time vary from midnight - 3:00 am CST.  There is a possibility of one Saturday per month as well, though this has only happened one time in the last 7 months.

Again, this is not a very technically demanding role – being able to communicate clearly with the on site technicians and keep track of what is happening across 3-5 sites at the same time is paramount.

When you have candidate engineers identified we can work to set up a 30 minute conversation with the project manager and lead engineer.  They can provide additional details, answer any questions, and will ultimately approve any new addition to the team.  Once engaged, the lead engineer will provide the new team member with some additional training material and then arrange for them to participate in some number of shadow sessions so they can observe the process first-hand and become comfortable with it before taking on clinics of their own.  Given the nature of the work, this typically only takes a couple of days.
