  Overview

  An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Agile GCP/Full Stack Enginner to form part of a specialist Technical team for Compliance IT in the Pune/HYD office.  The ideal applicant will have experience building ChatBot, large scale and REST-compliant services using Java in Cloud based environment.

   

   

  Purpose

  This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

  · Design and engineer software with the customer/user experience as a key objective

  · Actively contributes to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialism, best practice and lea
  ings.

  · Drives adherence to all standards and policies within their area of Technology Engineering.

  · Delivery and support of data related infrastructure and architecture to optimise data storage and consumption across the bank, including addressing functional and non-functional requirements relevant to data in large applications.

  · Design and develop applications for inte
  al and exte
  al users focussing on the interface and front-end usability of the application.

  · Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of inte
  al and exte
  al systems, networks, products and services.

  · Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.

  · Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable

  · Ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards.

   

  Responsibilities

  The Specialist Engineer role will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to the specialist Technology engineering team, which may include but is not limited to data engineering, security engineering, front-end engineering, user experience engineering.  They may be responsible for supporting platforms specific to a HSBC business area that requires specialist Technology engineering expertise. They may be accountable for a product or service within a Technology engineering specialism or they may provide subject matter expertise to one or more Technology teams on the area of their Technology engineering specialism.

   

  · Possess extensive and specialized technical knowledge in the business domain system areas, which include application development, business analysis, research and development, and systems integration for various business systems.

  · Coordinate individually or provides project lead as required in projects to support technical and business strategies.

  · Review/Ensure the technical design/code structure is technically coherent and future proof and compliance with technology standards and regulatory obligations.

  · Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of the systems.

  · Identify any issues that may arise to delivery risk, formulate preventive actions or corrective measures and timely escalate major project risks & issues to service owner.

  · Implement strategies to address automation, productivity and infrastructure problems and issues.

  · Initiates and conducts feasibility studies of new and modified business requirements. For large systems, prepares cost/benefit analyses, functional and detail specifications.

   

  Knowledge & Experience

  Must have

  · Excellent core Java, Spring/Hibe
  ate skills

  · Knowledge or experience in Cloud technologies adoption such as AWS/GCP.

  · Solid and proficient skills in Node.js, React.js. Python and Flask.

  · Experience in Dialogflow Chatbot engine setup and support.

  · Experience in Kube
  etes & Docker containerisation.

  · Experience on design and implement Kube
  etes solution and relate cloud native tooling.

  · Experience on design and implement DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipleline.

  · Experience in building RESTful services

  · Must be comfortable using Unix and should be good with common Shell commands/Scripting

  · A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a major or minor in computer science or related field.

  · 5+ years related experience in IT industry (Financial Service).

  · Experience with PostgressSql database

  · Possess hand on Scrum methodology discipline.

  · Experience with change management discipline and production issue management.

  · Good sense on best practice of architecture design.

  · Knowledge of DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Jira/Confluence.

  · Track record in working on the delivery of complex deployment projects.

  · Strong business sense with good understanding on how IT systems impact business objectives.

  · Strong communication, presentation & influencing skills, able to operate well across cultures and in multi-cultural, diverse work environments.

  · Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills.

  · Good command of written and spoken English.

  · Able to work under pressure.

  · Microservices architecture and API design.
