    About the role

    The Platform Services team has a critical role to play within the Chief Technology Office, in developing a long-term multi-technology strategy that delivers sustainable differentiation for Consumer Health and maximises our retu
    on investments.

    This role is accountable for the full Service Operational Support of the Haleon Network.  You will be responsible for providing deep technical expertise and leadership for the full lifecycle management of the network, from LAN, WAN, WIFI, Cloud Networking in Azure and GCP, DDI and Network Security Systems across IT and OT environments.

    You will work closely with Network, Security and Cloud Architects/Engineers to approve designs and ensure successful handover into Service Operations. 

    We are looking for someone who has hands on experience in working with technology and will provide L3/4 support as and when needed, especially on SWAT calls.  Experience in working with MSPs is a must, as well as a good understanding of the ITIL Framework.

    You must demonstrate a mix of technical and business stakeholder engagement abilities. Strong collaborative and intrapersonal skills are preferred.

    The role will report to Head of Service Assurance and Demand.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Expert knowledge within the following areas to provide full Service Operational Support of the Network, including;
      • WAN Transport technologies including FWA (4G/5G), Broadband Inte
        et, DIA, Ethe
        et, WDM
      • WAN VPN technologies including MPLS, IPSec, SD-WAN
      • Ethe
        et LAN Transport technologies including IEEE 802.1q, 802.11
      • Cloud Networking technologies including Cloud Transport, Virtual Appliances, Native Networking Functions, NFV Infrastructure
      • Network Security technologies including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SWG, Remote Access, Logging Storage
    • Managing our Partners/MSPs and leading SWAT calls for swift resolution of Major/Minor Network Incidents across all areas
    • Working closely with the Service Management Teams to ensure we adhere to Industry best practises (ITIL/ITSM)
    • Working in conjunction with Architecture and Engineering Teams to ensure Network designs are fit for purpose for in-life operations which meet Business requirements
    • Contribute to the network technology roadmaps and play a key role in shaping our network strategy
    • Ensure our network systems and toolsets meet operational and audit requirements.
    • Review Architecture/Engineering designs and provide recommendations/approvals at the Technical Design Authority Board
    • Accountable and responsible for providing technical approval for all changes (standard and Emergencies), including new deployments
    • Ensuring Network Systems are integrated with ITSM systems e.g. ServiceNow, identifying anomalies and working with relevant teams to resolve
    • Identifying Security Vulnerabilities within the Network and options to bring in line with current standards
    • Identifying anomalies within the Haleon Network and developing plans to resolve to ensure Business continuity
    • Driving efficiency, scalability, and ongoing in-life operation of our network
    • Communicating with Business Partners and Site IT Leads to evaluate performance issues in addition to have the skills to work independently and collaborate across global teams.

    Qualifications and skills

     

    Essential

     

    • Expert knowledge of Cisco Products and Solutions – Minimum CCNP Qualifications
    • Excellent knowledge of the SDWAN Products is a must
    • Expert knowledge and understanding of networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF and BGP)
    • Excellent trouble shooting skills across all areas, WAN, LAN, WIFI, Perimeter, and Cloud infrastructure
    • Expert Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama (certifications preferable)
    • Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure (e.g., Azure, GCP)
    • Requires understanding at a deep technical level the breadth of network, network security and UCC technologies across Edge and Cloud in both physical and virtual contexts
    • Strong experience of using the following tools for network management:  Cisco vManage, Cisco DNAC, Cisco Prime, Cisco License Server, SolarWinds Orion and Infoblox
    • Knowledge of using the following systems for network management - Kiwi Syslog, Splunk SIEM, Tufin, HP NNMI
    • Integration of Networking systems within ServiceNow (ITSM)
    • Understanding of applications and ports used within the Network
    • Effective presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas and making the case for change. Must be able to communicate conclusions, while articulating the analysis approaches clearly and concisely
    • Strong team player, needs to lead and influence across the business
    • Needs to be highly numerate, analytical, and comfortable operating across the business
    • Understanding of the ITIL Framework
    • Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP)
    • A continual improvement mindset and high levels of customer focus.
    • 10+ years’ experience in a Multinational Company within Service Operations/Delivery

     

    Desirable

     

    • Awareness of DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and tools such as Azure DevOps (VSTS), Jira, knowledge of Cloud Security Controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc
    • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt Stack.
    • Experience using scripting languages, such as Python or Perl, for automation and data analysis
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding ZScaler ZIA & ZPA
    • ITIL Qualified
