  hey are looking for Rack and Stack ( mandate )

   

  Location: Wakefield/ Ba
  sley, UK

   

  Key Responsibilities:

   

  1. New server installation

   

  Rack and Stack X86 Server

  Install and rack the machine in the designated rack

  Connect the machine with provided cabling

  Power on and run hardware diagnostic tests to confirm that the machines conform to specifications as detailed in the machine service manuals. Results to be supplied as part of the agreed template

   

  2. ESX in-place evergreen

  Remove the existing servers

  Install the new servers

  Configure the hardware console

  Install hypervisor

  Aperture record update (inte
  al system)

  Check and amend firmware levels, as required, to conform with documented firmware levels

   

  3. Hardware upgrades

  Unpack the hardware parts

  Dispose of packaging materials as per agreed processes and procedures

  For any removal of assets, will hand these over to arrange secure disposal

  Install parts during the agreed schedule

  Check server healthiness after the upgrade

   

  4. Cable Management retrofit

  Confirm the server to be workout had been powered off by the service owner

  Have a record of the cable connection mapping provided by the customer; otherwise, record the mapping of the server end\'s cable connections

  Disconnect the server end\'s connected corresponding cables

  Unmount the corresponding server off the rack, and remove its existing rail kit from itself and the rack

  Install the new rail kit with CMA on the corresponding server and the rack.
