We\'re looking for QA Engineers to work in our customer-focused agile delivery squads, collaborating with product managers, designers and software engineers to define the next iteration of mettle.
You’ll be an experienced and independent QA with prior exposure to testing web and mobile based app UIs (using debugging tools like Chrome developer tool) in addition to APIs (using tools such as POSTMAN).
You’ll work with other QA engineers to discover and build solutions that ensure reliable and scalable testing of our software so that we\'re able to deliver a high-quality, secure product to our customers at pace.
What your day-to-day looks like
Creating detailed defect reports with steps to reproduce with accompanying artefacts (logs, stack traces, screenshots) obtained through investigation into the root cause of the issue, meanwhile developing an understanding of the tech stack/ architecture under test.
Understanding of likely architecture decomposition, where a bug likely lies
Interrogate logs and the use of other debugging tools
Create highly legible and reusable test scripts at the right detail of granularity appropriate to the test scenario, story or feature
Creation and housekeeping of Test Plans and Test Cases
Balanced time management, deciding on priorities, being exhaustive yet pragmatic while balancing coverage with release cycles and the needs of the business
Comfortable working and traversing *nix based os environments
Collaborate across our QA chapter to uphold standards and best practices
What we’re looking for
Programming or scripting experience, preferably but not limited to Java and/or JavaScript
Prior experience with Selenium, Appium, Cypress or other UI based automation tools
Git or similar
Knowledge of web and mobile technologies
Experience of working in a large and complex engineering department with a variety of technologies and ways of working.
Comfortable with multiple and varied stakeholders, balancing complex and competing needs.
Working in teams that have leveraged use of automation with a strong appreciation of the benefits and limitations of automation testing.
Ideally you’ll also have
Comfortable with BrowserStack or similar as well as the use of simulators
Understanding of RESTful APIs
Good grasp of the test pyramid, what scope, type goes where
