• Job DescriptionRole : Devops + GCP  Automation Engineer

  Band: B3

  Location: Bangalore

   

   

  Duties & Responsibilities

  Provision Infrastructure as a service on Google cloud computing platforms

  Data center and server installation, maintenance, monitoring in cloud/IaaS.

  Responsible for Linux and windows server installation, maintenance, monitoring, data backup and recovery, security and administration.

  Responsible for managing networked storage.

  Disaster Recovery and Incident Response Planning.

  Installing, configuring and supporting primarily Linux and Microsoft Windows Servers on IaaS.

  Communicate with peers and managers regarding system issues & participate in 24x7 on-call.

  Excellent experience in developing/maintaining/fixing infrastructure as code using Terraform and Jenkins

  Excellent experience with Git/Github, Linux sysadmin, Bash, Python

  Good experience in Groovy, Ruby, YAML

  Some experience in design and deployment of GCP solutions, utilising PaaS products and GKE

  Desired Skills & Experience

  University Degree, Good to have if relating to information systems or computer science (Bachelor, Master).

  Experience in installing, configuring and supporting Linux and Microsoft Windows Servers

  4+ years of experience in implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting the Unix/ Linux operating system, Inte et-based applications, and web servers

  3+ years of experience in administrating Google cloud platforms.

  Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  Professional Exposure to Dev Ops release and build management, automation scripts experience with tools like Terraform, bash scripting, PowerShell.

  Professional Exposure to container platform tools like Docker, Kube etes

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with technical and business counterparts.

  Being available for working outside of normal business hours, holidays, and some weekends when needed for on-call periods.

  Nice to have but not compulsion

  Working knowledge of ITIL and/or agile methodologies.

  Experience configuring and monitoring firewalls, routers, switches and other network devices.

  Experience with TCP/IP protocol & configuration and Inte et technologies.

  Experience with LAN/WAN networking/distributed computing environment (client/server).

  Experience installing and managing Database, Big Data or NoSQL deployments.

  Soft skills

  Strong team, interpersonal, analytical, problem identification and resolution skills.

  Professional curiosity and the ability to enable yourself in new technologies and tasks.

  Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.

  Experience understanding set IT strategies and objectives.
